Our Voluntary Teachers:

Evelina Arnóczki

Evelina Arnóczki

I graduated as an English teacher from the University of Miskolc then carried on with my studies at the Eötvös University in Budapest. I was an enthusiastic actor of the uni's drama groups. However, it wasn't until I started my studies in Budapest that I heard about drama teaching. It fascinated me so much that I took on modules to learn more about it. A few years had to pass though, before I realized this path should be further investigated. I take great pleasure in leading the drama workshops at the LMI+. It is hugely satisfying to feel the space filled with energy, creativity and humour.

Panna Herman

Panna Herman

Panna, our new folk dance teacher in Islington from September 2011, writes:
I arrived from Marosvásárhely (or Targu Mures) in Transylvania a few years ago with my family. In Transylvania I had been a professional dancer with the Maros Folk Dance Group for two decades. Besides dancing, I taught dance for children in a primary school and together with my husband I established two dance groups for 18-21 years olds.
I believe that dancing crosses borders well, regardless of the language. Dancing is simply a form of life. We, dance teachers have an obligation to pass on our knowledge to the next generation so that they don't forget the dance of their forefathers and mothers. This way we can help them and us to maintain our roots, our rich folk heritage, including our beautiful folk songs.
